Julián García-Viso Gómez,

A multidisciplinary artist whose recent work has been recognized by the AEPE. His artistic practice can be understood as a deep inquiry into space and color, where vibrant colors and impossible forms intertwine to generate a poetics of movement and emotion. These forms are not mere strokes, but living gestures that, in their immediacy, capture the fluidity of thought and the subtle mastery of abstract visual language. In his compositions, García-Viso constructs landscapes that seem to emerge from a dreamlike world, where each moment is unique, unrepeatable, and yet charged with a timeless resonance that reworks and reinvents the legacy of abstract expressionism. García-Viso's experience as a painting instructor emerges in the precision of his dynamic structures and in his constant pursuit of visual harmony, which is not meant to be static, but unfolds in the very process of creation. In 2024, his work was awarded at the Abstract Art Salon of the AEPE, Spain's most prestigious artist association, reaffirming his position as a key figure in the field of contemporary abstract art. Beyond his work in abstraction, his solid pictorial training has been recognized with several awards in fields as diverse as portraiture, urban landscapes, and the depiction of nature, revealing his ability to transcend the boundaries of the figurative and the abstract.

The pictorial work focuses on creating a visual space where form and color coexist in balance, but without being subjected to predefined narratives. The technique – in watercolor – suggests a fascination with the spontaneous process, where the transparency of water and the fluidity of pigment allow the natural evolution of the work. In oils, this dynamism persists, though with a denser and more controlled materiality, showing a contrast in the way you work with different mediums, yet always under a unifying vision: the creation of personal universes.

The works seem to attempt to capture something beyond the tangible; they seek to convey fleeting sensations, shifting mental states, or even emotional landscapes. It is not art that is simply viewed, but rather experienced sensorially, allowing the viewer to partake in a dance between the known and the abstract.

This approach resonates with a kind of lyrical abstraction, aiming to unravel the purity of emotion and form in a non-narrative way. This approach reflects an intimate relationship with the act of painting, where control and chance are balanced, and where the final result is a reflection of both technique and the subconscious.
